WHY: A shift from governmental oversight to private sector self-regulation appears to be the future of environmental management. This will be a complex and complicated transition, as individual companies attempt to balance their needs against that of the surrounding communities and the world.

Join us for this breakfast presentation brought to you by San Diego EarthWorks and Sullivan Environmental Solutions as a forum for discussion among San Diego's leading experts in all areas of environmental management.

The keynote speaker will be Isis Fredericks, CQE, B.Sc., M.Sc, of Management Alliances. Ms. Fredericks is one of the world's leading experts on environmental management systems and their benefits. She has developed ISO 9000, BS 7750 and ISO 14000 based management systems internationally in the manufacturing and service industries. Isis is a Senior member of American Society for Quality, serves on the executive of the Canadian Environmental Auditing Association, and is a member of IATCA's WG4 developing international EMS auditor certification criteria. Isis will briefly address the following topics: Environmental audit standards and guidelines: Audit fundamentals; Environmental legislation and regulations; Environmental management systems; Types of environmental audits; Auditor certification schemes.
