Volunteering for EarthFair is this Your Year?

Help put on a party for 60,000 of our closest friends on April 16.

by Alice Martinez

ave you been to EarthFair during the past 10 years? With more than 60,000 visitors in an average year, there's a good chance you have. Did you have a great time? I thought so. Did you ever wonder how this event the largest free environmental event in the country was produced? Maybe not. Well, it's produced by 350 volunteers San Diegans just like you.

Now, how about doing away with that "just like" part and putting YOU in the picture? Whatever your talents or disposition, we have a job that is just right for you. If you're an early riser, come for setup and help turn beautiful Balboa Park into the EarthFair. Or, stay late and help make sure that we leave the park in pristine condition. Or, take a turn at doing stage security. Or staff an EarthWorks booth. Or but I can't go into it all that here.

To find out more, visit our website at www.earthdayweb.org, where you can find out all about the jobs and even signup online. Or, call our 24-hour information line at (858) 496-6666 to find out about our Volunteer Training Meetings.

If you're planning on attending anyway, how about taking a few hours to pitch in "behind the scenes"? Like they say: If not you, who? If not now, when?
