More than 70,000 people are expected to attend San Diego EarthWork's ninth annual EarthFair in Balboa Park on Sunday, April 19, 1998 from 10am - 5pm. Over 400 volunteers produce the EarthFair, managing the Earth Parade, parking bicycles, setting up exhibits, answering phones and separating recyclables.

Volunteers are needed before the EarthFair, too. Current projects for 1998 include: the VIP (Very Important Planet) reception and EARTH awards; a silent auction; circulating the Rural Heritage and Watershed Intitiative petitions, and habitat restoration projects.
